Hi, I’m Courtney Farrand and I’d love to be your travel agent!
I’ll be honest, I’m a Millennial (shhh don’t tell!) and didn’t see why people used travel agents in 2021… because I mean… I had Google. That year, my mom and I were planning on taking a trip to Cancun and there were over 1,100 hotels and resorts to choose from. I was overwhelmed and didn’t want to take my mom on a sub-par vacation. Enter travel agent!
Luckily, at the time one of my running partners was a travel agent and she told me something I didn’t know: her services were completely FREE to me! She didn’t charge planning fees and her commission gets paid directly by the supplier. So I gave it a shot and was so glad I did; She found the perfect resort for my mom and I! After that I guess you could say I was all-in when it came to seeing the benefits of using a travel agent and decided to become one myself.
Since becoming a travel agent myself, my eyes have been opened to the many myths about using a travel agent. One of the most common myths is that travel agents are expensive and charge high fees for their services. However, this is not necessarily true. Many travel agents, myself included, do not charge fees for their services, as they earn commissions from the travel vendors they work with.
Another myth is that travel agents only book packaged tours and all-inclusive vacations. In reality, travel agents can help you plan any type of trip, including customized itineraries, cruises, and even business travel. They can also provide valuable advice on travel insurance, visas, and other important details that can make your trip more enjoyable.
Some people believe that travel agents are becoming obsolete in the age of online booking. However, travel agents can provide a level of personalized service and expertise that cannot be found online. They can also save you time and stress by handling all of the details of your trip, from booking flights and hotels to arranging transportation and activities.
In short, working with a travel agent can be a smart and cost-effective way to plan your next trip. Don't let these myths hold you back from taking advantage of the many benefits that booking with me can provide!
